Places To EatThere are many places to eat within a short distance of Lanlas Holiday Cottages. These range from local pubs to restaurants and 5* hotels. We have listed some of them below to give you a flavour of some of options available to you. PubsThe Fishers Arms is our local pub and serves good Pub food. It is very friendly and has a great atmosphere and excellent beer. The Brunant Arms in Caio, run by Mike and Dave, is a great little country pub - wooden beams, log fires, settles and great food and beer. Its only a short drive away and in a great area for walks and horse-riding. Tafarn Jem is 3 miles away. Bar meals are great and we can recommend eating in their newly refurbished restaurant - the food is excellent. In town there are several hotels which serve good quality Pub food, including the Black Lion and Royal Oak. Cafés & BistrosHafan in Tregaron is an excellent new cafe attached to the Welsh Gold Centre. It caters for any size appetite and concentrates on using local and organic produce - well worth a visit! Café Print in College Street, Lampeter has recently been refurbished - its a great place to meet people and fall into a conversation with a complete stranger - great for coffee and lunches. Carolita's Mexican Cantina in Llandeilo is a new find for us - we have been there three times in the past month. It is excellent and very reasonably priced. Try the Sopa de Tortilla - very yummy! It is open Weds - Sat for lunch and dinner. If you visit at lunchtime you also have the opportunity to checkout Heavenly, the wonderful chocolate and Ice Cream shop on Llandeilo High Street. Sosban Fach in Bridge Street, Lampeter is a family run cafe - very friendly staff and a wide ranging menu of fresh food. LLoyds Fish and Chip Restaurant in Bridge Street is very popular - there is a large new restaurant or take away if you prefer.
RestaurantsTy Mawr Hotel, Brechfa, in the beautiful Cothi valley is an idyllic little hotel with a very good restaurant. All the food is locally sourced - they even have their own micro brewery. The Harbour Master Hotel is a 5* hotel in Aberaeron overlooking the harbour. It has a very good reputation and has won several awards. You need to book, especially during the summer. There is a formal restaurant for lunch and evening meals, or Tapas in the bar. Ty Mawr Mansion, also a 5* hotel, is situated just outside Ciliau Aeron in a beautiful setting in the Aeron Valley, between Lampeter and Aberaeron. The food is locally sourced and of a very high quality. Neuadd Fawr Arms in the picturesque village of Cilgwyn, in the Towy Valley, is a cosy pub with an excellent restaurant. Ty Thai, which has just moved to the seafront in Newquay is an excellent Thai restaurant. Again you need to book in the summer months ignore the chilli "heat" guide on the menu at your peril! If curry is your thing, the Shapla restaurant in Lampeter is very good - you can eat in or take away. A new Vegetarian Society-approved Vegetarian and Fish Restaurant, Très Bijou, has opened recently nearby at Bwlchllan and looks very good. We shall be trying it ourselves very soon. The Fish and Anchor at Cribyn (as seen on Gordon Ramsey on TV) has a new menu and a growing reputation.
